Joi Barua, a new name to many from Assam, but he has already mesmerized the one who listened to his magic voice and
composition. His first Assamese album released in the month of December, 2010 is enjoying the popularity in the new generation
assamese audiences. Named as also "Joi", the band with influences of both western and local Assamese folk music composed
music that have the potentiality to create a new wave of popularity in the region.

Although "Joi-Looking out of the Window" is the first released album in Assamese from the band, Joi Barua enjoys a significant
influence in the Bollywood musical world for some time now. Apart from Joi, the lead vocalist, other members of the band
include Pawan Rasaily , Ibson Lal Barua, Manash Chowdhary and
Partho Goswami.
Born as Jayanta Barua to Ranjana Barua and Rohini Dhar Barua of Digboi, Assam, Joi got the musical ambience in his home since
childhood. His father, a Violinist, has influenced him through out his career. He started singing and playing guitar, violin and
other instruments from his early schooling days. He admits contribution of his school principal, Sister Mabilia, who identified
his talent and always guided him in his early days.
But his real musical career started in 2003, when he landed in Mumbai and worked with prominent bollywood music Anu Malik in
the movie Munnabhai MBBS. There is no looking back for the musician. He has worked as a playback singer,
vocal arranger and background singer in numb er of bollywood films and other regional films. Udaan,
No One Killed Jessica, Dev D, Help, Azab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Jumbo are few among the lot where he worked
as playback singer. Joi has been a part of some of the biggest advertising campaigns in the last few years
With all his experinces and melodies, Joi, along with his band members came up with "Looking out of the Window",
which was officially launched on December 21, 2010.The album's first music video "Aikon Baaikon" was also
