Dudul Saikia wins "Best Hindi Indi Pop Of the Year" Award

It was a proud moment for Assam at 4th Royal Stag MIRCHI MUSIC AWARD held at Mumbai. The Mirchi Music award aims to honour great musical talents of India. This year awards were given in 24 categories.

Alaap Dudul Saikia directed Hindi album -"Dil Ki Baatein" won the Best Indi Pop Song of the Year for it's song Mera Kya Hai Sab Tera Sung by Javed Ali and lyrics by Ravi Basnet.

The award evening saw blockbuster performances by some of the biggest names from the Music industry. Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan jammed with the popular band Parikrama as they belted out the most memorable tracks from his films. Shreya Ghoshal and Bappi Lahiri sang Ooh La La and Chikni Chameli. Mika had the audience grooving to Subah Hone Na de. Another highlight of the evening was for the first time a live jugalbandi by some great musical talents in the country-Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Lalit Pandit, Salim-Suleiman, Ram Sampath, Sajid Wajid and Leslie Lewis. Sonu Nigam also paid a musical tribute to the leading lights of the film and music world who passed away in 2011: Bhimsen Joshi (Desh raag) Navin Nischol (Tum jo mil gaye ho), M F Husain (Yeh rishta kya kehlata hai), Ustad Sultan Khan (Albela sajan aayo ri), Ravi (Ay meri zohra jabeen), Jagjit Singh (Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho), Dev Anand (Main zindagi ka saath), Shammi Kapoor (Tumne mujhe dekha) and of course our most beloved Bhupen Hazarika (Dil hoom hoom kare).

Prior to "Dil Ki Baatein", Alaap Dudul Saikia has made his impression with Hindi Album "Zubeen Zindagi",Suneeta Rao's "Waqt",Shafqat Amanat Ali's "Tabeer", Child Prodigy Aasthajita's "Aa Gaya Savera", Bangla Album "Mon Haralo"s, etc. The very talented and renowned music Composer from Assamreally deserves such a reccognition.
