There are number of autobiographies/ biographies published in Assamese language.
Though it is difficult to say which autobigraphy was aritten first in assamese
language, yet Gunbhiram Baruah's "Anandaram Dhekial Phukanor Jiwon Sorit"
can be considered as the first biography of modern times. It was written in 1880.
Lakshminath Bezbaruah's "Shankardev" (1912), Suryakumar Bhuyan's "Anandaram Baruah"(1920) were
some other pioneer biographies written in Assamese.
Hemchandra Baruah's autobiography published in "Junaki" was pioneer
autography related writings in Assamese. To name a few, some other pioneer autobiogrpahies were
Lakshminath Bezbaruah's "Mur Jiwon Xuworon",Padmanath Gohainbaruah's "Mur xuworoni", etc.
